It sooo helps when you know someone in the business! Karen and my sister went to OCA (now called OCAD) back in the day. And she is more like family then friend. She understands my awkwardness fully takes advantage! I love it! She has photo journalistic flair to her work… just up my ally.
I hate posed shots, but we all know they are an intricate part of the day. I just wanted to be over and done with them so I could get back to my guests and party! I didn’t have to tell her anything! She knew exactly what we wanted and came through. We have decided to do a post wedding shoot when Nick gets back from the west coast. Location Fairmont Royal York… this will be fun!
Here are some of my fav pics from the day:

This shot (above is one of my favs… where we are sing to each other.
Thank you Karen and Dana for doing your thang!
Some nice individual shots of Nick and I and our guests… some you’ve seen before

We went with “Overjoyed” by Stevie Wonder for everybody… My dad and I ultimately danced through the whole song, but Nick and his mom joined in at the second verse, and then the wedding party joined in during the last chorus.

… and even more pics!
So ya, we left off at the wedding party getting in the stretch Nav on our way to the big party! BIL Peter took some quick pics of us all.

Nick and I met up with our photographer Karen, during Thanksgiving weekend (October 11th) to shoot our engagement pics. The weather was perfect for it too! Unlike our last attempt back in the spring…
We met up at Osgoode Hall in downtown Toronto and got the picture taking! These are un-edited for the most part… I played around with a couple on flickr.
These aren’t the high res pics. For some strange reason, my laptop couldn’t read the disc I got from my photographer so I’m working on getting the hi-res. I can’t wait! We’re gonna showcase these along with baby pics on picture frame wedding card box. We are also going to include pics from our parents/grandparents’ wedding.
P.S. Do you recognize the outfit?
All photos by Karen Tracanelli.

OMG I’m shaking with excitement! I was so against hiring a cinematographer, but I was overcome with emotion when I visited this company’s website and saw their work… they’re called Still-Motion. I’m still overwhelmed at the amazing quality. It’s like a mini movie made especially for us. I’m gonna surprise Nick with it.
I gave the 3rd degree to all of my married friends on a videographer here’s what they said:
“In hindsight, it would have been nice to have, only because the speeches at our reception were gut-busting funny…”
“If I could do it over, I would have asked around for the family member with the best video camera and a tripod and given them $100 and enough batteries to tape the whole thing.”
“Do it Nat, you’ll never regret it!”
“We didn’t have it in our budget to do, but it is worthwhile.”
So on that note, I called them up got all of the details, spoke to my photographer Karen for her insight, and booked them! They were the brains behind the Canon Rebel XTi commercial last fall.
They also specialize in Super 8… which is basically the old school way of making mini movies. The images are grainy and the colours are muted… it gives a very romantic feel to the video. I can’t wait for Feb 21st… the day I become a star.
UPDATE: So I couldn’t keep my mouth shut and spilled the beans to Nick. I can’t keep secrets from Nick… but that’s a good thing right?
