Nick and I had an awesome time in Victoria/Seattle. We were privy to a great tour of the HMCS Algonquin (sorry no pics are allow on a war ship), but I did capture this pic in the ward room of the Coors beer cans that change colour when it’s cold. I arrived in Victoria with a little chip on my shoulder after the news about the Coors billboards that claims their beer is “colder than the people in Toronto”.
I was already to wear my Maple Leafs jersey on board the airplane to show my pride, but I didn’t want to lug home a big hockey sweater. Besides, I was already over packed as it was… I just made the maximum allowed, 50lbs… right on the dot.
I tried to keep a journal of the trip, which turned out to short bullet form notes. Oh well, I tried right? Here’s how my trip went down:
CAUTION… mad pics after the jump… it’s true , I have no discretion…
Part 1 over here…
The next day, we up up bright and early for our “Mayan Encounter” tour.

WARNING… very pic intensive after the jump!
So after the SDE was shown, the night started to wind down. My coordinater and her assistant was about ready to bounce (more on that later) and some of my guests were starting to leave. I/we missed saying goodbye to some cuz we were too busy getting things in order so my parents could help out with gathering my personal ish. Fast forward to the next morning
We had a chance to meet up with a lot of our guests for breakfast, which was kinda fun… I was still reeling from the fact that we were actually married y’all! I was so anxious to start our day and get up outta there and head to the airport to begin our trek to Cancún. Nick and I have never been on an extended trip together… ever!
At the airport waiting to board the plane…
Before I get to where to, I have to show you our Honeymoon Suite.
We got a wicked Friends & Family rate at the Marriott close to our reception. Nick and I went to case the joint out and were surprised to see just how beautiful the room is:

Ok, I’m gonna let the cat outta the bag… I can’t keep secrets from Nick. A while back, I told you that I picked up some other items but was reluctant to share. Well I can’t hold back any more.
Although we haven’t chosen a destination for our Honeymoon (I’m leaving that up to Nick), I know we are going to arrive in style! Along with our new luggage, I picked up a couple more items essential for travel:

And the pièce de résistance… The Bride and Groom eye masks. Most sutible for the night before the nuptials and the long plane ride to our tropical destination!

They are from Mindy Weiss’ Wedding Gift collection. She teamed up with Two’s Company and created these (and other) beautiful gifts for the bride, groom and bridesmaids. I immediately fell in love with the Wedding Planner (which I got for an awesome price) and her “bird theme” got me thinking of incorporating it in our wedding. The colors even match this blog. Truth be told, we were going to originally go with the Tiffany Blue theme for our wedding, but it seemed played out… not to offend the Tiffany brides out there, but I wanted something a little more punchy, or opulent, as my sister would say. Some gifts from our Engagement party included linens with the same general colour theme. It’s so serene and calm. Perfect for a winter wedding wouldn’t you say?
I love Mindy Wiess… she is so choice!
