I woke up freaking early that morning, mainly to be the first one in the bathroom so I can get out the door. I fell asleep soundly in my room with my Mindy Weiss eye mask… which I forgot to give Nikko the night before, so he couldn’t use his
I was calm, and excited at the same time. I woke up my sister who was going to be the photog for the morning while we all got ready. My mom of course was already up brewing coffee and started breakfast, but I just wanted to get out of there. I tied my hair in a pony tail, rallied my two nieces, sister and mom and we we’re out. We were kind running late and had no time to put gas in the car which was running on empty doh!
I had washed my hair the day before to cut down on the time… my appointment was at 7:30 am and I had to be out of there by 9:30 for my make-up application. I brought my laptop along to show my hair dresser Dionne… yes I did have a trial but I’m a perfectionist, what can I say.

Not to say my hair is picky
but I’m very picky with my hair. Like every other bride out there, I’m trying to grow out my locks. Unfortunately for me, my brother was blessed with the “good hair” in the family, while my hair is fine and prone to breakage, so I have decided to commit to having it treated at least once a month, it will be expensive, but worth it.
I remember back in the day when I had a different hair style every week. I was heavy into corn rows and braids as the pic below will attest:
Me back in the 90’s rocking the Retro V Jordan’s… yes I was/still am a tomboy
I could have been a candidate for “What Not to Wear” back in the day, I mean, don’t get me wrong, I had style, it’s just that I wasn’t really into skirts and blouses. The one thing I made sure was on point was the hair. I didn’t care if I looked tore up from the the floor up… as long as my hair was looking good. But I went through so many hair stages, including Jheri Curls!
Me in Grade 6 rocking the bob
So now that ya’ll have finished laughing at my expense, I present to you some of the styles I’m considering to rock for my Big Day:

I love Gwen Stefani’s look, the modern pompadour. I would always rock this style whenever I went somewhere swanky… our wedding is no exception.

I love this look on Tyra, but that will call for mad extensions, and I want something easy to work with. I don’t want to be fussing over it all day.

I’m lovin’ this style as well, but again I’ll have to go with a full head of weave.
So what do you think? Up, down, weave? Let me know your thoughts!
