So I’ve reached a halt in my wedding updates… mainly because my Pro account with flickr,  which is provided free of charge by my internet provider, will change to a free flickr account on July 1st… which means I’ll have to pay $24/yr for my ish.

Now I have 3 Pro accounts… one for this blog, one for my wedding site and recaps, and one for my photography blog.  I know I don’t need 3 Pro accounts, but I’m greedy and now it’s gonna bite me in the @ss!

SIGH!  I’m trying to re-upload my pics onto my photog flickr page, but it’s taking soo damn long and the site keeps crashing.  I’m also using the flickr Uploadr, and that keeps crashing too!  I’m pretty my much done my post in terms of the copy, but I still have to post my pics and I don’t want to use my “Wedding” Pro account since it will no longer be in use after July 1st.

I mean all is not lost, I’m pretty sure my pics for this blog are safe… cuz there is no way I’m gonna re-post all them pics!

That is it for now.  I’m gonna try to upload my pics again today.  Hopefully I’ll have a little sum’n sum’n for y’all soon!

Thanks for your understanding!

Invites went out on December 17th and I am sooo relieved!  Just in time for the holidays!  I can’t believe the wedding is just over two months away!

So what’s this about Paper-Source you may ask?  Well, it all started back in August when I went to visit Nick in Victoria.  I was sure to keep my eyes peeled for some wedding stuff, and my keen eyes paid off.  I managed to find some fuchsia envelopes at a shop called The Papery.  I had planned to use them for my Save the Date cards.

The problem was, they only had 45 envelopes and I needed 80.  I pretty much cleaned out their stock and asked if they had any white… no chance. But I did manage to pick up a sample of the navy blue envelopes they had, good thing I did, because, they will come in handy later on.  So I went off on my merry little way and was determined to find some fuchsia ones in Toronto.

I was on the lookout for a new baker because our original baker went AWOL.  I figured something was up when I didn’t hear back from her after the second unanswered e-mail… good thing I didn’t leave a deposit!  Oh well!

We still plan on having a cupcake tree, and our baker for that is on lock, but we wanted a separate baker for the top tier.  So I found out about Carla Rocha of Cake Therapy from famed baker Bonnie Gordon.

I heard about Bonnie several months ago from one of my wedding magazines, and was disappointed when I found out that she no longer bakes, but now offers workshops and classes for pro’s and amateurs to learn the art of decorating.  I’m seriously considering signing up!

Thursday, October 2nd was a draining day for me… and I’m sure it was for the countless number of brides and grooms out there. Here’s the thing… the owner of Weddingbee announced that she has sold the site to eHarmony.

My initial thought was great! Perhaps we could get some black Bee’s up in that place and bring more diversity to the site. I mean come on, with a name like eHarmony you’d think they were all about diversity right… WRONG. The thing is this, eHarmony has not opened its services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community as a matter of fact they are known exclude LGBTQ people from their site and only recently begun advertising their interracial matching according to this post.

I can’t believe she chose to sell to a company that promotes discrimination, when she had other choices. I immediately took Wedding Bee off my reader and took their link off all of my sites.  I can’t support that site any more.  It couldn’t come at a better time really, because wasn’t impressed with the new generation of Bee’s… and I let then know that back in the summer.
