… and Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks!

We are planning a surprise party for my pops and it’s slated to go down this Saturday July 4th. I’ve been planning the party for over a month and a half and I’m so glad we are almost there. My only main concern is the music. There’s going to be a mix of old and young at the party… pretty much the same range of people who attended my wedding, but on a smaller scale. We’re expecting 40+ peeps to the house. Anyways, we are gonna play music that my dad likes (read: old people music) I’m just playin’ he always smiles when I say that.
I’ve taken on a few Martha Stewart projects in the meantime! Just like old times
I do kinda miss planning the wedding and getting all crafty, so I’m happy this little soiree came along when it did.
I wanted to get these Martha Stewart Pom Pom’s in blue, but it appears they have been sold out for a while, so I settled for the red/pink package. I’m only going to use the red ones. Oh ya, our official colours are red, white and blue. How patriotic eh… and for Independence day no less! We were supposed to have the party on June 27th, but some key people were not able to make it so we are have it this weekend.

Another MS project that I am just finishing up is the “Happy Birthday” garland that will hang from our gazebo. MS Crafts has a similar set in hues of green and blue, but why pay for something you can customize and make yourself? I ordered 5.5 inch red circle cards from Paper Source for the backing, and created 4.5 inch round circle cards that spell out HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I got some blue ribbon from Wal-Mart for cheap, and I’ll use that to string the letters together. That’s pretty much it for decor… I ordered 7 helium filled balloons to use as a centre piece and we are decorating the backyard with tons of balloons. Hope my dad likes it!
My sis created the invites and labels… with a little inspiration from me. They came our perfect!

Here’s another shot with the envelopes and labels… I freaking love this colour combo!

Let the fun begin!
